Steal My Art

February 14, 2015 by Elisabeth Degallier Leave a Comment

I gave up on trying to protect my images online. There is no theft-proof method of protecting your images online. If someone wants it enough, they’ll find a way. It’s the risk of putting your work out there.

Recently, I read a great little book called Steal Like an Artist: 10 Things Nobody Told You About Being Creative. The gist is this: nothing is truly original, so we should collect as many ideas as we can from the creative world to find our own style. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not endorsing outright theft. Please read the book.

So here’s my deal – if my art somehow inspires YOU, please take it and enjoy it! Heck, even SHARE it! There are just a few little details. (You knew it wasn’t that simple, didn’t you?)

  1. Images are not original files (think screen not print).
  2. Images are for personal or non-commercial use.
  3. Please don’t alter images in any way (crop, color, edit).
  4. Please give proper photo credit i.e. “photo credit: Elisabeth Degallier” with a link to my site.

That’s it! If you use one of my photos in your blog, let me know. It’s always fun to see!

A squirrel “steals” from our bird feeder. We don’t mind. He’s more fun to watch than the birds.

About Me

I can be found living in Fountain City, Wisconsin nestled along the upper Mississippi River, and working at home with my husband (and fellow geek) Mark. We’re self-employed through our company, Little Light Media. We have three incredible kids, their fantastic mates, one beautiful grandchild, and an obnoxious (but sweet) beagle. In our spare time we dream together, fix up our old house and watch sci-fi. This is the life!
